Carbon Action are delighted to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Business Expert Group (BE Group). This collaboration will see Carbon Action provide training courses as well as practical consultancy in ISO 14064 for companies operating in CIS regions.

CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) regions include Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.

Speaking about the agreement, Carbon Action Environmental Director Mr. Fergal Mee said:

“This is a huge milestone for Carbon Action. Having delivered similar services in the UK, Ireland, Norway, Qatar, Pakistan, Switzerland, Netherlands and China, the addition of CIS member countries gives us a truely global service offering.”

The first port of call for Carbon Action will be Kazakhstan in early 2014. The government of Kazakhstan are looking to introduce a carbon dioxide trading scheme for companies generating greenhouse gas emissions, and having joined the Kyoto protocol in 2009, pressure is on the authorities to fight global warming by reducing greenhouse emissions. Using the year 1990 as a benchmark, Kazakhstan agreed to achieve a 15% reduction in emissions by 2020 and 25% drop by 2050.
