Carbon Action spent a fantastic few days attending the Carbon Show 09 in ExCel London. We spoke with hundreds of people and companies interested in ISO 14064 driven Carbon Management Training and Consultancy. There appears to be a lot of confusion among people as to what they need to do to meet their commitments and generally what is required to reduce their carbon output. Carbon Action can cut through this confusion with some clear advice.
- Get the right information – there is plenty of confusing advice out there. We deliver world class training in an International Organization for Standarization (ISO) standard www.iso.org. This training will give you the tools to make the right decisions.
- Dont get overwhelmed – everybody responsible for the carbon output of a company has a different level of technical knowledge. When seeking advice dont let them confuse you even more. Although there is a lot to understand, it should not be presented to you as rocket science. A knowledgeable firm should give you advice in plain English.
- Think Global not Local – the issues and commitments you have are not necessarily unique. Although you may need to adhere to a national scheme e.g. CRC , you should practice a methodology that will future proof your efforts. ISO 14064 is the only global standard in GHG management and reduction. It ensures you generate results which stand up to scrutiny in any country around the world. Regardless of what other requirements you will have to meet in the future ISO 14064 will enable you to deal with them.
